FITTER - PLANT MAINTENANCE
PURPOSE
To ensure installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical equipment for reliable plant operations and minimal production downtime.
THE JOB
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on flexible laminate production equipment.
- Diagnose mechanical faults and execute timely repairs on machines, pumps, conveyors, rollers and auxiliary equipment.
- Install, dismantle, align, and assemble mechanical components and rotating equipment.
- Support breakdown maintenance activities to minimize production downtime.
- Support production teams to improve equipment efficiency and reliability.
- Ensure proper lubrication, inspection, and servicing of plant machinery
- Maintain maintenance records and comply with safety procedures.
- Ensure adherence to HSE and food safety standards with the plant.
THE PERSON MUST
- Ability to work shifts and respond to maintenance emergencies
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics and rotating equipment
- Team collaboration and communication skills
- Discipline, reliability and integrity
- Problem-solving and analytical thinking
- Strong awareness of industrial safety procedures and permit-to-work systems
QUALIFICATION
- OND or Trade Test Certificate in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
EXPERIENCE
- 2 years industrial maintenance experience
- Experience in manufacturing or packaging environment is an advantage
